Minnie for Madeline! 8/26/12

Jeff (husband) came home last week with a picture of a cake one of his co-workers asked if I could attempt to make for her daughters 4th birthday! I was so excited because it was my first real challenge cake someone has asked me to do!! It was a lot of work but it was such a great experience for me to learn how to do certain things for the first time! The cake itself was vanilla, the bottom cake had vanilla buttercream and the top cake was peanut butter buttercream. All the decorations were handmade out of fondant! I went to drop off the cake this afternoon and the little girl loved it (which made all the work I put into it worth it!)

Bekki's Baby Shower 7/2012

My sister in-laws baby shower was a lot of fun/hard work to pull together but everyone had a great time and therefore it was all worth it! Here are some pictures of the sweets and favors I did for her special day!!

Her shower theme was "little peanut" so I made Elephant sugar cookies for her favors I packaged them with Nutter butter cookies to make it look like peanuts! :)

Here are the favors all packaged up!

I know this isn't a sweet but I love how my Elephant Motorcycle diaper cake came out! :)

Mini chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with peanut butter and vanilla butter cream! And the top cake is vanilla and chocolate cake with vanilla butter cream and I hand made the cake topper out of fondant! :)

Another cupcake stand with just cupcakes. I made the cupcake toppers out of little elephant paper punches I made and hot glued them to toothpicks! :)

The Mommy to Be!! As you see in the background, I hung pictures of all her maternity shots that I did for her throughout her pregnancy! I am so glad I was able to do all of this for her special day! :)

Chrissy's Baby Shower 8/18/12

My friend Jamie asked me to make her some cupcakes for her daughters baby shower and of course I agreed...as you can see it's been a while since I have done something!! I have been so busy over the summer with the kids that it was nice to get back into the swing of things and do something that I love!

She wanted vanilla cupcakes with chocolate, peanut butter and vanilla buttercream. The colors she wanted me to use was white and turqouise...well let me tell you dying the peanut butter ones were simple since the buttercream is still pretty light in color and the white ones were a given that they would obviously stay white....the chocolate ones however were a challenge...my first batch of chocolate buttercream I tried to dye it turqouise and I came out with a baby poop color green which I figured wouldn't be too appetizing! So I made a second batch and just kept it the natural chocolate color. I made the flower pieces out of fondant which were a challenge but I was able to create 32 of them to top each cupcake with! It's all worth the hard work especially when I get positive feedback from people! Thank you Jamie for letting me do these for you! :)
